A Transfer Is a Process, Not One Transaction

The request, fee, available-credit update, payment to the old creditor, and first statement can occur at different times.

The Credit Limit Covers the Fee Too

The requested balance and transfer charge must fit within the amount of credit available for the transaction.

Processing Is Not Immediate

A submitted request may take time to appear, so the prior account should remain under active review.

Partial Transfers Are Possible

If the full request cannot be completed, a remaining balance may continue accruing interest with the old creditor.

New Purchases Use the Same Account

Spending after a transfer reduces remaining credit and adds transactions that must be included in the payoff plan.

Statements Still Require Payment

The introductory rate does not suspend minimum payments, due dates, or the consequences of missing them.

The Promotion Has a Firm Ending

Balances left after the introductory period may become subject to the card's variable APR.

Reconcile Four Balances After the Transfer

Do not assume the request is complete until the old and new accounts both agree with the expected result.

  • Old Account Balance

Confirm what remains after the payment arrives and continue required payments until it posts.

  • New Card Balance

Verify the amount transferred, the added fee, and any purchases or adjustments on the Reflect statement.

  • Available Credit

Check that the remaining capacity supports ordinary account activity without disrupting the transfer.

  • Promotional Payoff Balance

Separate the amount that must be eliminated before the introductory APR expires.

Managing a Reflect Transfer From Request to Payoff

A two-account checklist for processing, available credit, monthly statements, and promotional timing.

The Wells Fargo Reflect® Card currently provides a lengthy introductory APR period for qualifying purchases and balance transfers. Eligible transfers must be requested within the issuer's stated opening-account window.

A balance-transfer request and its fee use the new card's available credit. If the requested amount does not fit or the transfer is only partially completed, part of the debt may remain with the original creditor.

Continue monitoring and paying the old account until the transfer is confirmed. Then reconcile the Reflect statement, including the transferred amount, fee, new purchases, payments, and any adjustments.

Create a payoff target that finishes before the promotional expiration date. The required minimum can be lower than the amount needed to eliminate the balance during the introductory period.

This independent page provides education and is not a credit offer, application, personalized recommendation, or approval guarantee. A credit contract requires legal capacity. Wells Fargo's current pricing terms, disclosures, and cardmember agreement govern.
